Session 2: Cover Letters
This session includes reviewing your current cover letter and revising appropriate content to tailor skill sets for your specific job search.
Session 3: Networking
We will work together to establish a strategic social media presence on networking sites and identify key connections to establish in your field. If applicable, membership in associations and career groups will be discussed to maximize visible positioning in one’s sector.
Session 4: Mock Interview & Salary Negotiation
The final session includes a mock interview, either for an actual position that you have applied to, or one which closely resembles the type of interview you will be experiencing. After the mock interview, a debrief will be provided with feedback and sector-specific tips on how to successfully negotiate a salary offer.
Meet Laureen Lipsky
After obtaining her B.S degree in Finance from American University, Laureen worked in two very different sectors (advertising, real estate) before starting CharityScene, a third party fundraising charity company. The entrepreneurial philanthropy-oriented venture organically led to a Masters degree in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University in 2013. Since then, Laureen has been fortunate to have had roles at start ups, major non-profits, and at an accelerator, all lending to a thorough understanding of her field. Throughout her post collegiate life, she has helped many friends with their resumes, cover letters, along with salary negotiation tactics, and reviewed/revised graduate school applications which resulted in acceptances. A member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches Association, Laureen looks forward to working with you on any of your career or school admissions needs.
“Laureen transformed my resume and cover letter. She was great at helping me articulate my professional accomplishments in a simple ‘resume friendly’ way. Her professionalism and patience makes her fun and easy to work with. I would recommend Laureen to anyone who is looking to get their job search in gear.” – Michael Wollin
“Laureen was a great help to me while I was applying to MBA programs. I had been out of school for ten years and the application process was completely new to me. She helped guide me through the stages of the process from choosing the right GMAT prep course to deciding on which school to attend. Writing my admissions essays is where I needed the most help, and she worked with me through several versions until they were clear and concise. Her assistance throughout the whole process gave me reassurance and reduced my stress that comes with applying to graduate school. I would highly recommend her to anyone applying to graduate programs.” – Lais
